MALCOLM SUTCLIFFE

Malcolm was born in 1954 and studied ceramics and glass at Birmingham Polytechnic. He set up his first workshop on leaving Polytechnic at Winyates Crafts Centre, Redditch and was also employed as a visiting lecturer at Bristol Polytechnic and Stourbridge College of Art and Technology. After working with other glassmakers for some time Malcolm has come back to having his own studio, this time in Derbyshire, where he now works with the assistance of his wife.
Malcolm enjoys making bowls, dishes and plates that have clean, smooth, simple shapes offering a surface similar to that of a canvas for the images to be sandblasted on. All the glass is free blown using recycled 24% lead crystal, no moulds are used to shape the glass, only wet newspaper, wooden blocks and the traditional glassmakers tools.
At present he is working on the watery theme of dolphins and whales. The dolphins can be seen leaping and diving through the surf around the bowls. His latest work goes beneath the waves and submerges into the deep blue sea with the humpback whales.
Malcolm’s glass is sold widely through the U/K and sloe in Europe, USA and Japan and is represented in various museums and art galleries.

Royal Mail’s 1st Class, Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery are usually used within UK depending on value and insurance required.

SHIPPING / POST: larger items + International Deliveries

UPS (United Parcel Service) is used for larger items within UK and abroad.

This service is usually TRACKABLE and requires a signature upon receipt of goods. (This service has proved 100% reliable for us.)

Insurance, if required, is charged at 1% of value.

Price example - £ 12.50 up to 30kg for delivery next working day within UK

Shipping charges are priced at COST. If special packaging is required (e.g. wooden boxes or picture crates), this can be discussed at time of purchase and is charged at a nominal rate.
