SUE SHAW

Glass captured Sue’s imagination during her career in the glass packaging industry. In 1989 she started to explore her own creativity in this seductive material and is now an established designer maker in glass.
The magic of Sue’s jewellery and bowls is in her ability to heat sculpt the glass capturing the molten movement in each unique piece. “I like to work in harmony with the natural qualities, the language of my materials. I break, crush, melt, fuse and gently slump glass,” In a rare combination of glass and metal.
“My work is influenced by magic moments. Seeing a form that flows, a texture that enriches, a colour that catches my eye, something that speaks to me or gives me a tingle of inspiration. Working in harmony with the qualities of my materials. I heat sculpt molten glass rod forming each unique piece. I love the wrapping qualities of wire, so I often partially cocoon my forms. My metals grow slowly onto selected areas of each form, first copper, then silver. The process is known as electroforming. Subtle colours evolve through oxidation of the metals and I often enrich them by gilding with 22 carat gold leaf.”

This service is usually TRACKABLE and requires a signature upon receipt of goods. (This service has proved 100% reliable for us.)

Insurance, if required, is charged at 1% of value.

Price example - £ 12.50 up to 30kg for delivery next working day within UK

Shipping charges are priced at COST. If special packaging is required (e.g. wooden boxes or picture crates), this can be discussed at time of purchase and is charged at a nominal rate.
