MYCHAEL BARRATT

Mychael Barratt was born in Toronto, but now lives and works in North London.

When Mychael first moved to London, he worked as a freelance illustrator before discovering etching - a medium that perfectly complements his use of light and shade and his strongly narrative style. The inspiration for his etchings can come from absolutely anywhere and reflects a keen sense of humour and an over-active imagination.

His illustration commissions have included such unlikely requests as Minotaurs and mermaids for London Zoo and a series of unwearable shoes for the British Shoe Corporation. His work has often featured in collections and annuals highlighting illustration in Britain

Mychael is an Elected Member of :
The Federation of Canadian Artists (F.C.A.),
The Greenwich Printmakers Association
The Royal Society of Painter/Printmakers (Fellow since 2002)
